POLICE recover $12M in allegedly stolen LG G2s

A man has been arrested for allegedly hauling more than $12 million in stolen smartphones, Kentucky State Police announced. Juan Perez Gonzalez was arrested on Monday in Louisville after he crashed his tractor trailer into a utility pole. The truck was found to be carrying more than $12 million in LG G2 smartphones. CNET reportedlast week that 22,500 LG G2 handsets had gone missing at a truck stop in Gary, Ind. According to the Kentucky State Police, it partnered with Louisville Metro Police, the FBI, and the National Insurance Crime Bureau to locate and conduct surveillance on the cargo. Upon arresting Perez Gonzalez, the police charged him with receiving stolen property worth more than $10,000, leaving the scene of an accident, and theft by unlawful taking of goods valued at more than $1 million.
